As reported in the Canberra Times this morning, work is well underway for an attempt at the world record for the ‘largest LED light image display’ right here in the heart of Canberra City. Lights have been installed in Petrie Plaza over the last three weeks with a lot more still to be installed before the official opening on the 28th of this month. Mr Richards, who is responsible for the project, quotes some very impressive stats; over 110 kms of string lighting (with a light every 10cms) weighing an amazing 6.5 tonnes, supported by 10 tonnes of steel infrastructure. Gold coin donations are being accepted at the site with all proceeds going to SIDS, who are hoping to raise $200,000.

Here at Spinway Canberra, we can’t think of a more magical evening than riding through the city adorned with thousands of twinkling lights, should be an unforgettable experience.
